If you’re curious about the difference between traditional systemic treatments and an alternative breast cancer treatment plan that allows you to treat breast cancer without surgery, this article is for you. It can often seem difficult to decipher between the two — so we’re here to help.

Once you know the differences between traditional and alternative plans, it’s clear that alternative plans focus on whole-body health. At Immunity Therapy Center, we focus on alternative treatments to support your overall health. Whether we’re constructing a specialized meal plan with our nutrition department or discussing oxygen therapies, we’re here to create a plan that’s specific to you.

Let’s dive deeper into the two types of plans, so you can decide which one is best for you.

A Traditional Breast Cancer Treatment Plan

A traditional breast cancer treatment plan includes radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy. Patients may often focus on one of these treatments or a combination of treatments. Traditional treatment plans emphasize fighting the breast cancer cells (rather than an emphasis on fighting the breast cancer cells while simultaneously building the strength of the healthy cells).

During radiation therapy, beams of energy are used to kill cancer cells and shrink any reminisce of a tumor. When the DNA of breast cancer cells is damaged beyond repair, they stop dividing (or die). As the damaged cells die, they are broken down and then removed by the body.

Surgery is commonly seen in a breast cancer treatment plan for a variety of reasons. This can be to remove the cancer (breast-conserving surgery or mastectomy), to find out whether it has spread to the lymph nodes, and to relieve symptoms of cancer that has advanced. Surgery can also be used as breast reconstruction, to restore the shape of the breast after the cancer has been removed.

Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer drugs that are either injected into a vein or taken by mouth. The drugs move through the bloodstream to reach cancer cells throughout the body. Chemo is often used as the main part of a breast cancer treatment plan when cancer has spread outside of the breast and underarm area.

With a traditional breast cancer treatment plan, there are a wide range of side effects. These side effects vary among breast cancer patients and they can include:

  • Fatigue
  • Skin problems
  • Hair loss
  • Easy bruising and bleeding
  • Infection
  • Anemia
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Appetite changes
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Mouth, tongue, and throat problems (like sores and pain with swallowing)
  • Nerve and muscle problems such as numbness, tingling, and pain
  • Urine and bladder changes and kidney problems
  • Weight changes
  • Concentration and focus issues
  • Mood changes
  • Changes in libido and sexual function
  • Fertility problems

An Alternative Breast Cancer Treatment Plan

Many people are not familiar with Alternative medicine and therefore question whether alternative breast cancer treatments actually work. In America, there are regulations against doctors providing less invasive and non-invasive holistic treatments to breast cancer patients. That’s why the leaders of alternative treatment plans are found mostly in Tijuana, Mexico, where ITC is located. Natural treatments for breast cancer work to build your system up while you fight your breast cancer diagnosis. They focus on keeping the body, mind, and spirit healthy while moving through the treatment of breast cancer. We believe that alternative diagnosis and treatment plans offer well-rounded healing and strength for your body while decreasing the negative side effects.

Here is what an alternative breast cancer treatment plan looks like at ITC.

Well-Being and Nutrition

When considering an alternative breast cancer treatment plan, one of the factors that’s crucial is overall well-being and nutrition. At ITC, we believe that a positive outlook on your diagnosis is what helps you to fight. That’s why we focus on well-being as part of our breast cancer treatment plan, with an emphasis on moving through treatments in a way that is both stress-free and therapeutic. Part of what we focus on is patient nutrition, through wholesome and balanced meals. When cancer feeds on sugar, it grows. Because of this, we use a low glycemic diet. We have a specialized cancer nutrition department to evaluate our breast cancer patients and provide meal plans. In alternative treatments, we focus on the health of your whole system. To fight back against the cancerous tissue, we must ensure that your body is fueled and ready. Balanced nutrition keeps your system strong and ready to kill cancer cells. Some other ways to focus on well-being while undergoing treatment are meditation, yoga, and deep breathing. Aromatherapy is also often suggested as a way to decrease anxiety and increase positivity. Well-being and nutrition are different for all breast cancer patients, so it’s important to find a plan that works for you and your healing.

Alternative Therapies

When it comes to an alternative breast cancer treatment plan, there are several different alternative therapies to consider.

At ITC, Dr. Bautista understands that each cancer and each patient is unique. He works alongside patients to come up with a treatment plan that works for the specific type of cancer and the stage.

When a new patient comes to ITC, these are some of the alternative therapies we discuss.

IPT or DPT (Insulin potentiation therapy or DMSO Potentiation Therapy): These are cancer target therapies, where we deliver high doses of B17 (from Apricot seed) and/or 5-10% low dose chemotherapy (after a chemosensitivity test).

Mag Ray (Far infrared heat): Daily session to increase the intratumoral temperature to 104F

Laser: Daily session, directed at the tumor to reduce inflammation and increase intratumoral temperature.

Biomagnetic Therapy: To increase intratumoral temperature, and repolarize cancer cell (change electrical charge so we can disrupt cancer cell membrane)

RIFE: Daily Sessions, where we give specific condition frequencies from a rife machine.

HALO: Bio-resonance treatment. Daily sessions.

Alkalinizing Therapies: We want to create an alkaline ph (cancer grows in acidic environments). We give patients Sodium Bicarbonate IV and provide you with alkaline water. The detox process will contribute to this.

Oxygen Therapies – Ozone therapies (UVBT): 1-2 times a week. We want to create a rich oxygen environment where cancer cannot grow.

Intravenous Program: We give patients 2 Intravenous solutions daily. The first week is Vitamin D high dose in 250 cc saline solution and Salinomicine (to destroy cancer stem cells)

Hyperthermia: At Immunity Therapy Center, we offer two unique types of hyperthermia cancer therapy within our alternative breast cancer treatment plan. Hyperthermia works to expose body tissue to high temperatures to kill cancer cells and damage the proteins and structures within the cells. As this process happens, the tumor shrinks and there is typically minimal injury to normal tissues.

When using a whole body hyperthermia cancer treatment, there is an increased body temperature of 104 F. We do 2-3 sessions a week, using thermal chambers and hot water blankets to raise body temperature. With this controlled fever, certain immune cells become more active and can fight and kill  cancer cells. We often use whole body hyperthermia for cancers that have spread throughout the body.

There is also the option of local hyperthermia (Oncotherm), where we complete daily sessions, increasing the intratumoral temperature to 104-106 F. We apply heat to a small area, directly to the tumor, through microwave, radiofrequency, and ultrasound energies.

To better understand the process, when a tumor is  exposed to extreme heat, it is made “visible” to the body’s immune system. In doing so, the system recognizes and can fight that tumor. Hyperthermia is sometimes combined with other targeted therapy , as it can make cancer cells more sensitive to radiation. This is the type of therapy that can be used to positively complement traditional anti-cancer drugs and medicine.

Immunotherapy helps the immune system recognize and kill cancer cells. Our immunotherapy breast cancer treatment plan at ITC includes the following:

  •  Autologous stem cell therapy (Immune stimulation with Interleuquin II) application once a week.
  •  Dendritic cell Vaccine. Once a week.
  •  Specific Transfer factor vaccine. Application 2 times a week intravenous
  •  ITC Riv. Viral vector vaccine. Application once a week.
  •  IT MAF (Gc Macrophage Activation Factors) GcMAF 2 times a week, subcutaneous.
  •  LAK procedure if indicated (not included)
  •  Specific killer cell vaccine (We will require 1 cc cancer tissue) If indicated, Not included.

The ITC Experience

The best way to understand the experience that surrounds the Immunity Therapy Center is through the stories of our patients, which allow you to see what makes our alternative breast cancer treatment plan both unique and effective.

When Sherri Drew from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was diagnosed with Stage 2 B Breast Cancer, she reached out to the Immunity Therapy Center right away for alternative ways to treat breast cancer.

“I felt nothing but goodness here,” she said, “Everyone here is full of hope, joy, and love. I couldn’t speak more highly for the love and compassion and care that is given here.”

Sherri, like many of our patients and breast cancer survivors, felt that ITC provided the positive environment needed to fight her diagnosis and the challenges that came along with it.
