Hypertension Management

High blood pressure is a common condition in which the force of blood against artery walls is high enough to eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease. Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood the heart pumps, in relation to the amount of resistance the blood flow encounters in the arteries. The more blood the heart pumps and the narrower the arteries, the higher the rate of blood pressure.

High blood pressure generally develops over many years, and is easily detected, though it may be asymptomatic.
