Acerca del cáncer de tiroides
El cáncer de tiroides es un tipo de cáncer que empieza a formarse en la glándula tiroidea. Aunque no es un tipo de cáncer común, es único porque es más probable que ocurra en adultos de mediana edad que en adultos mayores. En comparación con alguien mayor, un paciente de mediana edad puede estar experimentando cambios hormonales de nivel máximo a medida que la función tiroidea cambia naturalmente.
Estadísticamente, es el cáncer con la incidencia de más rápido crecimiento, pero eso se debe probablemente a las mejoras en los métodos de detección.
¿Dónde se encuentran las células cancerígenas de la tiroides?
La glándula tiroidea se encuentra en la zona frontal del cuello, debajo de la manzana de Adán. El cáncer se producirá típicamente en una de las dos regiones donde hay suficiente tejido para que las células cancerosas se asienten:
- Células foliculares – Células que ayudan a regular la producción hormonal y el metabolismo de una persona.
- Células C – Células que producen calcitonina, que ayuda al cuerpo a utilizar el calcio.

Estadísticas de cáncer de tiroides
Según la Sociedad Americana del Cáncer, hay aproximadamente 52.000 casos de cáncer de tiroides cada año – 14.000 hombres y 38.000 mujeres. Este cáncer tiene una mayor incidencia en las mujeres adultas de mediana edad.
Causas y factores de riesgo
La causa exacta del cáncer de tiroides sigue siendo un misterio; sin embargo, los médicos han encontrado vínculos entre diversos factores de riesgo y la enfermedad. Estos incluyen:
- Género – Aunque ambos géneros pueden experimentar problemas de tiroides, las mujeres son 3 veces más propensas a desarrollar cáncer de tiroides que los hombres.
- Edad – Los adultos de mediana edad son más propensos que los adultos mayores a tener la enfermedad.
- Condiciones hereditarias – Algunas condiciones genéticas causan genes anormales heredados que pueden llegar causar trastornos de la tiroides. Se conocen como carcinoma medular de tiroides familiar.
- Historial familiar – Si alguien en su familia tiene cáncer de tiroides, su riesgo aumenta.
- Radiación – La exposición a la radiación aumenta drásticamente las posibilidades de desarrollar una condición de la tiroides, nódulos tiroideos benignos o la enfermedad metastásica en su forma completa.
Detección temprana, diagnóstico y estadios
Signos y síntomas de cáncer de tiroides
Los signos y síntomas del cáncer de tiroides son poco comunes en las primeras etapas. Sin embargo, los signos de un nódulo tiroideo que debe conocer incluyen:
- Tos persistente
- Dolor de oído
- Ronquera
- Un bulto en el cuello
- Dolor en la parte delantera del cuello
- Hinchazón en el cuello
- Dificultades para respirar
- Dificultad para tragar
Las diferentes etapas del cáncer de tiroides
La gran mayoría de los tipos de cáncer se califican en una escala de 0 a 4. Las etapas del cáncer de timo son:
- Etapa 0 – Carcinoma in situ, un pequeño tumor potencialmente maligno o benigno se forma como un nódulo tiroideo dentro del tejido del órgano.
- Etapa I – Se forma un tumor canceroso pero aún no se ha extendido a los nódulos linfáticos o regiones distantes.
- Etapa II – El tumor mide menos de 2 cm. Puede o no haberse extendido a los nódulos linfáticos, pero no ha llegado a regiones distantes en el paciente.
- Etapa III – El tumor ha crecido más allá de la glándula tiroides hacia los tejidos cercanos como la laringe, la tráquea o el esófago. Las células cancerosas pueden o no haberse extendido a los ganglios linfáticos pero no ha llegado a regiones distantes.
- Etapa IV – El tumor ha crecido más allá de la glándula tiroides hacia la columna vertebral y hacia los grandes vasos sanguíneos. Las células cancerosas pueden o no haberse propagado a los ganglios linfáticos y ha llegado a regiones distantes del cuerpo.

Most treatment programs are completed in three weeks. Depending on the stage and condition of your disease, you may require a treatment program of six weeks or more.

Dr. Bautista will evaluate you once your program is complete and recommend follow-up care. Depending on your situation, this may include alternative therapies, medications, and natural supplements you can take at home, or returning to our center in three to six months for further treatment.

Dr. Bautista received formal medical training from Baja California State University in Mexico. He also holds a Masters in Nutrition from the same university. He has worked as a Director for alternative medicine hospitals. Early in his career, Dr. Bautista became interested in alternative cancer therapy and treatments and has studied alternative treatments extensively around the world.

Our alternative, natural treatment programs are completely customized and different for each person. Dr. Bautista personally evaluates each patient to design a holistic, alternative therapy program based on specific needs. He meets with every patient, every day, to monitor and evaluate his or her treatment and progress. This allows him to make immediate adjustments to treatments as needed.

We treat a wide range of patients with a variety of cancer types from stage 1 to stage 4, as well as patients with different autoimmune diseases, chronic degenerative diseases, and infectious diseases. All these factors, as well as previous treatments and medical history, impact individual success and survival rates.
Dr. Bautista will discuss your condition and chance of success during your initial consultation. Many of our patients do go into remission and see enhanced quality of life following treatment.

Dr. Bautista and our nutritionist will discuss your diet with you during your cancer treatment. Your specific dietary needs may vary, but we encourage you to eat a balanced, organic diet as much as possible.
We have an onsite chef that prepares organic, healthy meals at our center.
Costs and Travel Arrangements
A typical three-week treatment program costs $18,995USD, and includes all therapies, diagnostics, and a healthy, organic, breakfast and lunch (+2 juices/smoothies) Monday – Saturday. Room and other board, travel costs, surgeries, and blood transfusions are not included. Some very specific therapies may not be included. Depending on your stage and condition, you may need six weeks of treatment or more.

We accept major credit cards (some fees may apply), personal and cashier’s checks, wire transfers, and cash. You can also easily PAY ONLINE.
Airfare is not included in the program cost; however, transfers to and from the airport (Tijuana or San Diego) and transportation between our center and your hotel are included.
You may fly into Tijuana, Mexico or San Diego, California. Wewill make arrangements to meet and pick you up at either airport. We are only 25 minutes from the San Diego International Airport. You may also drive to the center. When you schedule your treatment, we will provide detailed driving directions.

If you are undergoing outpatient treatment, you will need to stay in a local hotel or other lodging option during your treatment. We are located near several quality hotels in Tijuana, and have arranged special rates for our patients.
