¿Dónde se encuentra el cáncer de riñón?
El cáncer de riñón se localiza en el riñón, debajo de los intestinos y antes de la vejiga. Como se trata de un cáncer de carcinoma, la enfermedad se origina típicamente a través de una acumulación de células cancerosas en el tejido de la pared del órgano. Una agrupación de células anormales forman tumores, ya sea benignos o malignos, siendo estos últimos cancerosos.
El cáncer de riñón tiende a ser más prevalente en los hombres que en las mujeres. Las investigaciones realizadas por la CDC muestran que en 2016 los índices de diagnóstico en los hombres eran de 22,8 por cada 100.000, mientras que las mujeres se acercaban a la mitad, con 11,6 por cada 100.000.
¿Hay diferentes tipos de cáncer de riñón?

- Carcinoma in situ – El tejido anormal, aunque está presente, aún no se ha propagado. Abnormal tissue, while present, is yet to spread.
- Carcinoma invasivo – El cáncer se propaga al tejido circundante. Cancer spreads to the surrounding tissue.
- Carcinoma metastásico – El cáncer se propaga más allá del tejido original para infectar otros órganos. Cancer spreads beyond the original tissue to infect other organs.
Causas y factores de riesgo
Hay varios factores que pueden aumentar considerablemente el riesgo del cáncer de riñón. Estos incluyen:
- La obesidad
- La presión arterial alta
- Esclerosis tuberosa
- Fumar
- Síndrome de Von Hippel Lindau
Aunque el cáncer de riñón no es hereditario, el riesgo es mayor cuando hay un linaje familiar de la enfermedad.

Signos y síntomas

Prueba para el cáncer de riñón
Hay varias pruebas efectivas para reconocer las primeras etapas del cáncer de riñón en el cuerpo. Generalmente, los oncólogos primero realizan un análisis de sangre y orina que mide las cantidades de electrolitos en el cuerpo. Después, los médicos recomendarán una tomografía computarizada, una resonancia magnética o un ultrasonido para detectar células tumorales u otros grupos de células anormales. En algunos casos, será necesario realizar una biopsia de masa de células renales para analizar la acumulación de células y realizar más pruebas.
Los diferentes estadios del cáncer de riñón
El Comité Conjunto Americano sobre el Cáncer mide las etapas del cáncer de riñón a través del sistema TNM, que utiliza el siguiente desglose:
- T T: Tumor: Tanto el tamaño como la propagación
- N – Cuando el tumor se ha propagado para infectar los ganglios linfáticos locales – When the tumor has spread to infect local lymph nodes
- M – Cuando el cáncer es metastásico y se ha extendido a otros órganos – When cancer is metastatic and has spread to other organs
En caso de que el cáncer de riñón entre en las etapas dos o tres, es probable que el paciente deba ser sometido a una nefrectomía para extirpar todo el riñón.

Costs and Travel Arrangements
A typical three-week treatment program costs $18,995USD, and includes all therapies, diagnostics, and a healthy, organic, breakfast and lunch (+2 juices/smoothies) Monday – Saturday. Room and other board, travel costs, surgeries, and blood transfusions are not included. Some very specific therapies may not be included. Depending on your stage and condition, you may need six weeks of treatment or more.

We accept major credit cards (some fees may apply), personal and cashier’s checks, wire transfers, and cash. You can also easily PAY ONLINE.
Airfare is not included in the program cost; however, transfers to and from the airport (Tijuana or San Diego) and transportation between our center and your hotel are included.
You may fly into Tijuana, Mexico or San Diego, California. Wewill make arrangements to meet and pick you up at either airport. We are only 25 minutes from the San Diego International Airport. You may also drive to the center. When you schedule your treatment, we will provide detailed driving directions.

If you are undergoing outpatient treatment, you will need to stay in a local hotel or other lodging option during your treatment. We are located near several quality hotels in Tijuana, and have arranged special rates for our patients.
